Overview

Kettle Stitch is a bench-planning tool for bookbinders. It works entirely on your device. It has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, and no server of any kind. This policy explains exactly what the app stores and why.

What the app stores, and where

Everything you create in Kettle Stitch — projects, plans, calibration, shelf entries, bookmarks and binder's marks — is written only to your device's local storage, using Apple's Core Data framework and standard app preferences (UserDefaults). None of it ever leaves your device. There is no cloud sync, no backend server, and no account to create.

Projects and plans — the binding, size, sheet and paper choices you enter on the Plan screen, and the sewing plan calculated from them.
Calibration — the one-time bank-card measurement used to draw the true-size punching guide.
Shelf entries — the title, materials, notes and photo (if any) you add for a finished book.
Bookmarks and binder's marks — which Library guides you've saved, and which in-app achievements you've earned.
Preferences — your unit system (mm/inches) and toggle settings such as haptics and sound.

Camera and Photos

When you tap "Take photo" on the Shelf screen to record a picture of a finished book, the app opens the system camera or the system photo picker (PHPicker). The resulting image is saved only inside the app's own storage on your device, as part of that shelf entry. Kettle Stitch never scans, uploads, or otherwise accesses your photo library beyond the single photo you actively choose or take.

Notifications

If you start a press timer on the Bench screen and choose to be reminded, the app schedules a single local notification on your device for when the timer ends. This notification is generated and delivered entirely on-device; no remote push service is used, and no data about you is sent anywhere to make it happen.

Tracking and third parties

Kettle Stitch contains no analytics libraries, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party code of any kind. It does not track you across apps or websites, and it does not share, sell, or transmit any information because it does not transmit any information at all.

Data retention and deletion

Your data stays on your device for as long as the app is installed. You can clear a specific project, shelf entry or the app's entire local data set at any time from the Settings screen. Deleting the app also deletes everything it stored.

Children's privacy

Kettle Stitch does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone at all.
